Bio
Amanda Benedict takes a holistic approach to health care in her treatment of adult and pediatric patients. She values a patient’s emotional wellbeing and works to develop a plan of care that incorporates mental health with an additional focus on nutrition and lifestyle.
Amanda graduated from Anderson University in South Carolina with an undergrad in sports medicine and physical education. Amanda is a Certified Athletic Trainer and enjoys working with athletes. She then received her master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies at the University of Colorado, with specialization in Pediatrics. Amanda chose to study in the rural track to gain as much experience in a wide variety of conditions. After graduating, Amanda worked in pediatrics for 7 years with a practice focus id newborn care.
Amanda’s goal is to see patients as a whole person focusing on prevention and wellness. She wants to support patients in the areas they would like to grow.
Professionally:
Amanda enjoys working with patients in the areas of nutrition and mental health, focusing on prevention and wellness. Every patient has their own story and upbringing, and Amanda is grateful to support patients walking through anxiety and depression. With a background in athletic training and having been an athlete herself, she enjoys working in sports medicine as well.
Personally:
You can generally find Amanda with her friends or family, spending time outdoors, or reading a good book. She credits her successes today to the support of her friends and family so spending time with those people is vital to her. Being outside is also life-giving for Amanda. The outdoor activity changes with the season – skiing, mountain biking, playing ultimate frisbee, or camping. Sharing these passions with her son is one of her greatest joys.
Amanda loves to play, move her body, and get outside, so it’s important she make the daily choices that will allow her to do the things she enjoys most. Amanda also maintains focus on the simple things within her control – sleep, nutrition, stress relief and counseling – which helps her stay active and well balanced. She tends to get injured from time to time with the activities she does, so she is also a big fan of physical therapy.
