Amir Kamel, APRN, FNP, MPH is an American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) board-certified advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who specializes in providing primary, chronic, and specialty care to patients of all ages and backgrounds. His Bachelor of Science in Nursing was obtained at Texas Tech University Health Science Center of El Paso, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. His Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a family nurse practitioner (FNP) was obtained at Walden University. He has also received a dual Bachelor of Science in biology and microbiology at New Mexico State University and a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Hispanic/U.S.-Mexico Border Health at the University of Texas at El Paso. He is now working on his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Wichita State University.
As a clinician who has a blended clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating chronic and acute health conditions, he emphasizes patient education, disease prevention, and health management. His primary focuses are primary care, chronic disease management in diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, weight management, and mental health care, including depression and anxiety disorders. He is also a Certified Geriatric Care Professional (CGCP). More than anything, taking time for his patients is one of his greatest joys. With that said, Amir brings a comprehensive perspective and personal touch to Village Medical and is committed to meeting the nation’s healthcare needs and combating chronic disease and rising healthcare costs.
When he is not working, he enjoys being with his family, watching football with his son - who is also the center of his universe, and doing things around the house. Go Cowboys!!!
