Elise Barrett, MD

Elise Barrett, MD, FAAFP, is a specialist in Family and Obesity Medicine. She started her practice in 2011. Her areas of interest include obesity, nutrition, diabetes, mental health, women's health, men's health, hypertension, and complex medical problems.

Dr. Barrett earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She continued her studies at the same institution, earning her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed her residency at the Grant Family Medicine Residency Program at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine, Dr. Barrett is also a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Obesity Medicine Association. She holds the Degree of Fellow from the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Barrett believes that doctors need to listen to patients to properly diagnose and treat them. She keeps her patients informed and respects their decisions. She thinks that successful medical care is a team effort, starting with the patient and physician.

When she is not helping patients, Dr. Barrett enjoys textile arts and embroidery. She loves all kinds of music and singing. She is always eager to learn new things and enjoys traveling.
