Bio
James Fretwell (pronounced “Jaimz / Freht well”), MD, has been caring for the health and wellbeing of patients since 1997. He has clinical interest in obesity and lipid disorders.
Dr. Fretwell earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Walsh University in North Canton, OH. He earned a master’s degree in biology from The University of Akron in Ohio. He earned a Doctor of Medicine from Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, OH, and completed his family medicine residency at Barberton Citizens Hospital in Ohio. Dr. Fretwell is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). He also has certifications in lipidology and obesity medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the National Lipid Association (NLA) and the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA). Dr. Fretwell enjoys investing in the future of his profession as an assistant professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
When he isn’t with patients, Dr. Fretwell likes watching hockey. He is also interested in low carbohydrate eating and fasting.
