Bio
Jean Ferdinand (pronounced “Z hahn / Fur din and”), MD, is devoted to providing his patients with quality care. He began practicing medicine in 2011 with clinical interest in concussion management, sport injury prevention and travel medicine. Dr. Ferdinand treats children, teens and adults.
He earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Queen’s College, City University of New York. Dr. Ferdinand completed a master’s degree in molecular biology at Long Island University Brooklyn. He attended medical school at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. Then, he completed the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program in New York. In addition, Dr. Ferdinand completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Dr. Ferdinand is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM). In addition to English, Dr. Ferdinand speaks French and Haitian Creole.
On a personal note, Dr. Ferdinand is married with three children. He enjoys playing soccer and volleyball as well as traveling and participating in medical mission trips.
