Bio
John Weaver (pronounced “Jawn / Wee-vur”), MD, has practiced family medicine since 2017. Dr. Weaver has clinical interest in preventive care, care of chronic diseases such as diabetes, and weight loss.
Dr. Weaver received his bachelor’s degree in political science at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN. He completed post-baccalaureate work in biomedical studies at The University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, TX. Dr. Weaver attended medical school at Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, TX, and completed his residency in family medicine at Baylor Garland Family Medicine Residency Program, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, in Garland, TX. Dr. Weaver is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practitioners (AAFP) and the Texas Medical Association (TMA).
Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Weaver received his law degree from Southern Methodist School of Law (also known as SMU Dedman School of Law) in Dallas, TX. He practiced law for 27 years where he argued cases before the Texas Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and most of the Texas appellate courts.
On a personal note, Dr. Weaver and his wife have three sons and seven grandchildren. He loves sports, gardening and taking long walks. He is also an avid reader.
