Bio
Certified physician’s assistant Lee Akerson is dedicated to providing his patients with quality care. He started practicing in 2014 with medical interests in geriatrics, wound care, cardiology and pulmonology. Lee treats adults, completing physical exams and Medicare annual wellness visits. He is certified in basic life support (BLS), rapid response team (RRT) emergency medical care and wound care, and is a diplomate of the American Professional Wound Care Association (DAPWHc).
Lee earned his bachelor’s degree in health services administration from Upper Iowa University in Fayette, IA. He worked as a registered respiratory therapist for seven years before completing his PA studies at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND.
When he is not with his patients, Lee enjoys spending time with his wife, their three children, and their three dogs. His children are involved in club volleyball, which keeps the family busy and active in sports. Lee also likes cheering on the Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball teams.
