As a nurse practitioner, Levi Jelks, Jr., is dedicated to providing quality care to his patients. He started practicing in 2018 with clinical interest in diabetes management, hypertension and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Levi treats adults.
Born in Tuskegee, AL, Levi attended colleges in the south and along the east coast, including Auburn University at Montgomery in Montgomery, AL, Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL, and New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York, NY. Ultimately, he earned his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Clayton State University in Morrow, GA. He received his master’s degree in nursing at Walden University in Baltimore, MD after which he was certified as a nurse practitioner with a focus in adult gerontology. His nursing background also includes experience in emergency room trauma as team leader and supervisor.
Levi is a US Navy Vietnam Era veteran and served in the medical unit aboard the USS LaSalle.
On a personal note, Levi enjoys music, playing the saxophone and listening to Gregorian chants. He also likes to travel and explore various cooking and cultural meals.
