Bio
Monica Serrano-Toy (pronounced “MON ih cah / Ser AH no-Toy”), MD, is devoted to her patients’ health and wellbeing and strives to treat the whole person. She started practicing medicine in 1999 and enjoys working with a full spectrum from birth to older age, with special clinical interest in women’s health and family medicine.
Dr. Serrano-Toy earned her undergraduate degree in modern languages/French at Wright State University in Dayton, OH and an MBA at Washington University in St. Louis, working in corporate banking prior to attending medical school at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. She also earned a certificate in bioethics at Baylor.
She went on to complete her residency in family medicine at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Dr. Serrano-Toy began her medical career in the U.S. Air Force before entering private practice in Fort Collins, Colorado. She is a natural family planning consultant, trained in NaPro Technology, and a member of the Catholic Medical Association. She is also fluent in Spanish and French.
On a personal note, Dr. Serrano-Toy has three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, skiing, sewing, cooking and reading.
