Bio
Sonija Shrestha, who goes by Sunny, is a doctorally-prepared board-certified nurse practitioner focused on family medicine. Her area of clinical interest includes women’s health, especially family planning and preventative care. She started practicing in 2016.
Sonija earned her undergraduate degree in nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. She completed her family nurse practitioner training at Texas Woman’s University, where she recently completed her doctorate program in 2022. She is certified as a family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Sonija is fluent in Nepali and Hindi.
When she is not helping patients, Sonija enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, two daughters, and fur babies. She also enjoys listening to podcasts about the latest medical developments, hiking, traveling, and camping.
