Bio
Since 1978, Viola Veronica Anderson (pronounced vi o la / AN der sun), MD, has been devoted to the wellbeing of her patients. Dr. Anderson treats adults. Her areas of clinical interest include internal adult medicine.
Dr. Anderson earned her undergraduate degree in zoology and chemistry from Howard University in Washington, DC. She was elected to Beta Kappa Chi and Phi Beta Kappa in her Junior year and Magna Cum Laud at final graduation, January 1970 completing her BS degree in 3 years. She then attended SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University College of Medicine on full scholarship in Brooklyn, NY graduating with honors in Radiology in 1974. Dr. Anderson completed her residency at Harlem Hospital Center in New York City with a focus in internal medicine. She also holds a master's in public health (MPH) from Columbia University in New York City.
Named “Outstanding Physician of the Quarter” Mainland Medical Center, Second Quarter 2008.
On a personal note, Dr. Anderson enjoys tennis, swimming, track & field, and auto racing. She also enjoys world-wide traveling.
